Olejniczak Improves Ranking In Hurdles, Helps Team Win Spartan Invite

Each week the Athletic Department selects a Spartan Athlete of the Week. The recipient for the week of April 16 is boys track and field athlete Zach Olejniczak.
Last weekend, he was able to take first place in both pole vault and the 300-meter hurdles. He set season bests in both events. In fact, he scored 24 points out of the team’s 103-point total to help the Spartans win the Spartan Invitational.
Olejniczak is now ranked fourth in the Illinois High School Association Class 3A State division in 300-meter hurdles, and he is twelfth overall in the state of Illinois.
Other nominees for Spartan Athlete of the Week included Nick Limber (Baseball), Noeleen Brown (Badminton), Emma McGrath (Girls Track), and Cynthia Nunez (Girls Soccer).
