OLCHS Student Leaders Step Up

On November 11, 90 student leaders attended the annual Student Leadership Conference hosted by Student Council, National Honor Society and Student Athletic Leadership Team. The theme was “Stepping Up.”
Students had the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills by participating in numerous small group discussions and activities.
M&P Presentations started the day with an all-school assembly aimed at motivating students to step up and step out of their comfort zones.
After a touching celebration for Veterans Day, the presenters switched gears and made the audience laugh uproariously during their version of Awkward Olympics. The importance of making good decisions and finding joy in the ordinary was stressed to students.
Conference attendees also earned 1.5 hours of community service at their choice of various locations.
Event chaperones included Colleen Conway, Jeremey Cryan, Kelly Kenny, Jeana Lietz, Lauren May, Thea Meierkort, Kate Mellone, Janet Meyers, Jessica Nickless, Jennifer Sidlow and Marcus Wargin.
