Running cross country is a constant battle against the clock and the body’s limitations. It takes a strong mental will, grit and determination to push for a faster time.
So, when Oak Lawn Community High School junior Adam Trojak beat his personal best time by a whopping 47 seconds Saturday at the Illinois High School Association Regional meet, he showed exactly what he is capable of accomplishing. Trojak finished the race in a time of 19:01.
“Adam had a fantastic race and was the number two runner on the boys cross country team,” head coach Sal Montez said. “This is a 47-second improvement from his previous best. Adam has been a Top 7 runner on the team all season and has been an important member of the team in both competition and practices.”
