As a sophomore, making the jump to the varsity level isn’t always an easy one. However, with hard work and relentless effort, Oak Lawn Community High School’s Emma McAuliffe is advancing by leaps and bounds.
In fact, the sophomore libero leads the Spartans in serving percentage, receptions, and digs. She is currently ranked number-one in the state of Illinois for digs out of all sophomores while ranking in the Top 15 for any grade level.
“Emma was libero on the frosh team last year and improved tremendously throughout the offseason to earn a spot as the libero on varsity,” head coach Kathleen Miller said. “Not many players would be able to handle the big jump, but Emma plays with composure, confidence, and a relentless defensive effort that frustrates opponents. She has an unwavering desire to win and has continued to elevate her game throughout the season.”
