OAK LAWN GIRLS SWIM RELAY BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD

The training schedule for any swimmer is to work hard, continue to improve throughout the season, and eventually taper workouts for maximum effort and results at the end of the season in the big meets like conference and the sectional. This past weekend at the Illinois High School Association Sectional meet at Hinsdale Central, that schedule worked out perfectly for four Spartan swimmers.

The Oak Lawn Community High School girls 200-yard freestyle relay team of Alessandra Gabriel, Mya Orozco, Elizabeth Hennessey, and Amelia Fudala broke the school’s record with a time of 1:46.46. This performance surpassed the record that was set just last year by almost two full seconds.
