Oak Lawn Community High School students Orlando Ramirez, Collin Kalousek, and Billy McNichols were selected for the All-State Choir. Choir director Samantha Elliott will travel with Orlando, Collin, and Billy to Peoria, Illinois from Wednesday, January 25th through Saturday, January 28th for the annual Illinois Music Educator Conference. The students auditioned in October and participated in the district ensemble at Elmhurst College in November, where they were reevaluated and chosen for the All-State Ensemble. The students will participate in rehearsals for two days and perform on Saturday in the afternoon. This ensemble is made up of approximately 200 students from the state of Illinois.

Sam Elliott said, “I am incredibly proud of the hard work that these students have put into this
experience. They have proved their dedication to our music program and will be a positive representation of what we do and what we are capable of at OLCHS. I am so excited for the students to have this experience and I really hope they will value the time they get to spend rehearsing and performing next weekend.”
