After winning the South Suburban Conference Red championship and the Illinois High School Association Regional championship a year ago, the Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowling team is looking to accomplish both of those feats all over again this season. And they will have their chance as the Spartans will host the regional coming up on Jan. 14 at Palos Lanes.

The Spartans have a new look with five new bowlers, including four freshmen and a sophomore. However, they are off to a solid start with a record of 11-3 overall and 10-1 in conference. Ramiro Garcia placed tenth for a medal at the Oak Lawn Invitational back in November. In December, Garcia finished fifth at the 15-team Oak Forest Invitational. Sam Bergamo bowled well there too as he took tenth and earned a medal.

The junior varsity team is rolling well also as they are 10-4 overall and 9-2 in the SSC Red. JV took third place at the Oak Lawn Invite with freshman Justin Canvan finishing fourth overall.
