Students were welcomed back to school with music, balloons, and yes, a green carpet for students to strut back to school in style.
New students, new teachers, new administrators and new traditions kicked off the Spartan 2016-17 school year. For one, Welcome Wagons took place throughout the summer to welcome the incoming class of 2020. Faculty, staff, and administrators visited the homes of incoming freshmen with a Spartan bag and a warm hello. New this year was a Freshmen Orientation on August 17, 2016, in which the freshmen had the school all to themselves to acclimate to the building, meet their teachers and walk through their schedule. The day ended with ice cream, raffles, T-shirts and performances by the dance team and cheerleaders on the football field.
This “Opening Day” theme welcomed the entire school back on August 18, complete with music, balloons, and yes, a green carpet for students to strut back to school in style. The entire faculty and staff wore Opening Day t-shirts to add to the excitement of a new school year.
