Sophomore Vladimir Meza is quickly making his mark on the Illinois High School Association boys swim season. This weekend, he will have an opportunity to really make as splash as he swims with the Spartans in the South Suburban Conference meet.
He currently has one of the fastest times in the 100-yard freestyle at 55 seconds and also leads the Oak Lawn 200-yard medley relay with the backstroke.
“Vladimir has been an integral part of the boys swim success this season,” head coach Derek Maciaga said. “He is a standout sophomore with a drive to always get better in the pool. He has a hardworking attitude and is always open to insight on how to get better. He looks to be competitive in this weekend’s conference meet in each of his events.”
