As a 6-foot-5 junior on the Oak Lawn Community High School boy’s basketball team, Henry Martinez has a lot of expectations to perform in the in paint. And this season, he continues to get better and better to fill those expectations.

Shooting 71-percent from the field and grabbing rebounds at both ends of the floor, Martinez is having a solid year for the Spartans. He is averaging six points and six rebounds per game. He is also averaging one blocked shot per game.

“Henry is emerging as an interior force for the Spartans on both ends of the floor,” head coach Jason Rhodes said. “Getting better with every week, he is providing our team with some needed rim protection and defensive rebounding. An agile 6-5 with a wide wingspan, Henry’s ability to play defensively both in the paint and on the perimeter provides our team with a lot of schematic flexibility. The best part is that his best is yet to come.”
