The Oak Lawn Community High School boys basketball team went 9-1 in the month of January. Junior Corey Lee was the driving force in that red-hot month of hoops. He shot nearly 39-percent from three-point land, controlled the ball on offense, and turned up the heat on defense. He averaged 4.9 assists a game, scored 11.9 points per game, and added nearly two steals a game.

February has been just as productive for Lee. Through five games he is averaging 19.4 points a game and is shooting almost 48-percent from behind the three-point arc.

“Corey significantly cut down on his turnovers and began heating up beyond the three-point line,” head coach Jason Rhodes said. “He continues to be our best ball defender. His strong play has continued into February.”

The Spartans won their Illinois High School Association Regional semifinal game Wednesday in Olympia Fields against Rich Township by the score of 71-65. They improved to 21-10 on the season.
