Krzak Leads Spartan Football to Opening Win on Ground, Through Air

Each week the Athletic Department and the Spartan Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) selects a Spartan Athlete of the Week. The recipient for the week of August 21 is football player Robert Krzak.

Krzak earned the starting spot at quarterback this season and did not disappoint in the opening game of the season with a huge performance on the road against Marian Catholic in Chicago Heights. He led the offense by going 5-for-11 passing for 55 yards, and he rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns. In total, the Spartans gained 350 yards of offense (300 of them coming on the ground).
This week Oak Lawn football has its home opener as it hosts Chicago Public School Quest at 7 p.m.

Other nominees for Spartan Athlete of the Week included Alfred Agapito (Boys Cross Country), Qassim Alshariff (Boys Soccer), Martyna Gugala (Girls Tennis), and Amanda Bulow (Girls Volleyball).
