With a mix of veterans and some exciting newcomers, the girls bowling season could bring some success to Oak Lawn Community High School this year. Although the season is young, the Spartans are off to a 1-1 start on the year by beating Tinley Park and falling to Reavis.
The varsity team consists of Maggie Hennessy, Jayla Cooper, Alex Deangeles, Sarah Lindsay, and Caitlyn Sierzega. The junior varsity team is made up of Emily Dolan, Angela Correa, Kayla Moore-Navarro, and Danah Sheikh.
“We are so excited to be getting our season in, and we are excited to compete against other teams in the South Suburban Conference,” head coach Jennifer Faro said. “Our team is a great mix of seasoned players and newcomers, and we are working on improving our consistency this year and picking up spares.”
The team has also welcomed veteran teacher and coach Pat Mayer as an assistant coach this year.
