Garcia Leads Spartan Bowlers, Has Team Aiming For State Tournament Berth

Ramiro Garcia is a three-year varsity starter on the Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowling team, and he has established himself as the team leader. As such, he is giving the team belief that it can advance in the Illinois High School Association postseason and even advance to the state tournament despite very difficult sectional competition.
Garcia has the highest average on the team at 218.4. This year he’s bowled high games of 246 (3 times), 247, 253, 254, 255, 259, and 273. He earned ninth place at the Oak Lawn Spartan Invitational and seventh in the Oak Forest Invite.
“Ramiro is a leader in every sense of the word and represents Spartan Pride at every practice, match, and tournament,” said head coach Kevin Walery. “Keep up the great work, Ramiro.”
