For senior Jake Franzen, jumping is what he does best. He jumps high. He jumps far. He jumps quickly. Jumping is his thing.
All this jumping has him resting in the Top 12 in the state of Illinois in high jump and in the Top 10 in the Illinois High School Association class 3A. He also cleared 41 feet in the triple jump and 20 feet in the long jump. Finally, Franzen has become the second fastest in 300-meter hurdles on the Oak Lawn Community High School boys track team.
“Jake holds down our jumps department,” head coach John Jensen said. “Jake is a leader on our team and is always willing to jump in and help when needed. He comes to practice each day ready to get better and ready to compete at each meet. Jake is an essential part of our team, and he is one of the reasons we’ve had such a successful season.”
