Being captain of an athletic team demands strong personal characteristics and leadership skills. Senior Danah Sheikh displayed all those things as captain of the girls bowling team at Oak Lawn Community High School this season.

Sheikh qualified for the Illinois High School Association Sectional this year for the first time. In addition, she also led cheers all season long, helped teammates, and even created a team video.

“Danah has been an athlete on the bowling team for all four years of her high school career,” head coach Jen Faro said. “She is our team leader, leading our cheers before matches, cheering on her teammates on the sidelines, as well as being quick to give a high five and cheer on her opponents. She has proven that hard work really does pay off.”
