Featherstone Earns Spartan Athlete Of Month While Setting Swim Records

Each month the Athletic Department selects a Spartan Athlete of the Month. The recipient for the month of September is girls swimmer Elizabeth Featherstone.
During the month, Featherstone has recorded the 200-mewter freestyle, 500-meter freestyle, and 100-meter freestyle times in the South Suburban Conference Red. Her 100-meter butterfly time comes in at second best in the conference, and the 200-meter Individual medley time is third best.
At the Andrew Frosh/Soph Invitational, Featherstone took first out of 14 teams in the 200 freestyle and second in the 100 freestyle. She also helped the 200-medley relay take third and anchored the 400-freestyle relay in a second-place finish.
At the Evergreen Park Invite, she took third out of nine teams in the 500 freestyle and second in the 100 butterfly. Her best 200 freestyle time of the season so far set a new frosh/soph record. She also helped set new records in all three frosh/soph relays. She anchors each of those relays.
Other nominees for Spartan Athlete of the Week included Damian Komperda (Boys Soccer), Emma McGrath (Girls Cross Country), Chaniece Dobson (Girls Tennis), Kevin Swatek (Football), Tadgh Spillane (Boys Golf), Jadon Pirkl (Boys Cross Country), and Sydney Rozhon (Girls Volleyball).
