Freshman Curriculum Night
Oak Lawn Community High School will welcome the Class of 2027 with the Incoming Freshman Curriculum Night on Wednesday, January 25th at 7pm in the Spartan Gym. Administrators will provide an overview of the school's academic program and general information about typical freshman courses. Following the general presentation, families are invited to visit elective areas where teachers and administrators will share information about classes in world languages, industrial technology, family/consumer sciences, art, business, and music. Students enrolled in Districts 122 or 123 will receive a packet from the school with course selection materials and placement recommendations. Students who do not currently attend Simmons or OLHMS but who live within District 229 boundaries can call the school at 708-424-5200, to indicate their intention to attend OLCHS.
As a reminder, each family should also sign-up for a Course Selection conference with an administrator or counselor. Class of 2027 students will register for their courses through a phone conference or in-person appointment with an administrator or counselor.
These meetings will be held on:
Wednesday, February 8th from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Families requesting an IN-PERSON CONFERENCE should select a time slot using this link.
Families requesting a PHONE CONFERENCE should select a time slot using this link.
Families of students with IEPs will NOT have to sign up or attend a registration conference. Your courses are selected by the IEP team at your student’s annual review. An OLCHS staff member will be attending those conferences in late January/early February.
All families of incoming freshmen should plan to attend–we hope to see you Wednesday, January 25th at 7pm.
