Sophomore Julia Krok tried out for the cheerleading team for the first time this year, and even though she is only a sophomore, she made the varsity squad. The fact that she is a dancer and has those skills made a difference, but it was what she brings to the table mentally with attitude that really makes her stand out for the Oak Lawn Community High School cheerleading team.
“Being a dancer, she is an excellent performer and learns routines easily,” Maria Vanderwarren said. “She works very well with her squad members and will do whatever is needed to better the squad as a whole. Her willingness to learn, determination, attitude, and performance skills are her best assets.
“Julia is a pleasure to coach, and her smile shines through at every practice, no matter how tough they are. We are fortunate to have such a talented athlete on our squad and look forward to a great season.”
