In cross country, the goal is to finish in the Top 20 and score points for the team. So, the fact that freshman runner Andrew Leon has finished in the Top 20 at every major invitational for the Spartans this year shows just how important he is to the team.
Boasting a personal best time of 18:52 for the three-mile course, Leon has proven to be a solid number 2 runner on the team. He will surely play a major factor in the upcoming South Suburban Conference meet. The Spartans will have high expectations for success.
“Andrew is a freshman who is having a standout year,” said head coach Sal Montes. “With conference a couple of weeks away, Andrew is expected to be a key runner.”
