COMMUNITY OUTREACH FOR SPANISH & ARABIC SPEAKERS
Do you Speak Spanish or Arabic at home? Would you like to learn more about District 229 in your home language?
Students in Spanish 4, 4 Honors, Heritage Spanish classes along with the Muslim Student Association and Heritage Arabic students will host the school’s annual Community Outreach Event for Spanish and Arabic Speaking parents and students of District 229. This year, the event will be hosted virtually and will take place over three days: January 27th through 29th from 6:30-8:00PM with a total of 12 events being offered! Each event is 30 minutes in length and participants can choose which session(s)to attend. Sessions range from introductory information for incoming students of the district, to obtaining important after high school planning resources, to trivia games with prizes included!
The purpose of this event is to foster a relationship between Oak Lawn Community High School and its Spanish and Arabic speaking communities. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students in Spanish, Arabic classes and the Muslim Student Association to use the Spanish and Arabic languages in a safe and fun environment.
This will be the first year the outreach event will be held virtually and both students and teacher supervisors are excited for this change! The students along with their teachers are looking forward to reaching a broader audience and welcoming the entire Spartan community!
Please refer to the school calendar for a list of each day's events.
