Oak Lawn Community High School senior Vanessa Carr started her high school track career as a hurdler. However, since then, she has added long jump and triple jump along with becoming a member of a sprint relay team to really become a valuable asset. She is a multi-event weapon for the Spartans.
Her versatility and inner drive might just push her to the top of the South Suburban Conference Red Invitational. Only time will tell.
“Vanessa started the season with determination to do well her senior year,” head coach Brian Fiene said. “Vanessa has always been a hurdle runner, and over the last two years has focused on long jump and triple jump. And since the start of 2022, Vanessa has been part of our 800-meter relay team.”
This season Carr has long jumped 15-feet, 11.75-inches, and triple jumped 32-feet, 6-inches. She is aiming to be a top finisher at the upcoming SSC Red meet.
