Bergamo Returns to Lead Spartan Bowling To Success

After finishing in sixth place last year at the South Suburban Conference Red varsity bowling meet as a freshman, sophomore Sam Bergamo enters this year with a hunger to improve. He really caught fire at the end of last year, and now his sights are set on a conference championship for Oak Lawn Community High School.
“He finished the season hot, and expectations are high as he begins his sophomore season in the varsity starting lineup,” head coach Kevin Walery said. “The varsity team in eyeing a shot at the conference championship and advancing deep into the Illinois High School Association State tournament. Sam looks to be an integral part of the team’s success. He has put the work in this offseason to try and repeat as an SSC All-Conference bowler.”
The Spartans opened the season with a conference win over Lemont on both the varsity and junior varsity levels earlier this week.
