Being a solid player for the Oak Lawn Community High School girls tennis team as a number-one doubles player like she did last year is one thing, but moving to the number-one singles role this year is a whole new ball game. However, Sandy Berg made the difficult switch and is thriving on the court.
She has opened the young season with a 2-0 record, and she has become the team’s vocal leader. She is poised to accomplish big things for the Spartans and head coach Dan Doyle.
“Sandy is very encouraging of the younger players coming up through the system,” Doyle said. “She really is like another coach out there. She is always thinking tennis and trying to improve herself and others.”
