NHS General Membership meetings take place on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm in the Jr/Sr Lounge. Refer to the Google Activity Calendar for meeting dates. NHS sponsors the Student Leadership Conference, RMH Meals From the Heart, The Keyser Family Holiday Party, The NHS SOUPer Bowl, Hustle up the Hancock, St. Baldricks Day at OLCHS and a spring Trivia Night.

Vision Statement

The Spartan Chapter of the National Honor Society was established to recognize outstanding students who excel in academics, activities and athletics. Members of NHS demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. The Spartan Chapter inducts new members in the fall of junior and senior year.

Membership Expectation
|
The Spartan Chapter of the National Honor Society requires the following: Pillar One Scholarship: All members must maintain a minimum 3.5 Cum. GPA, Pillar Two Leadership: All members must continue to participate in two extracurriculars or two sports in addition to NHS, Pillar Three Character: All members must continue to follow the rules set forth in the OLCHS discipline code, Pillar Four Service: All members must complete 30 service hours by the end of the third quarter of senior year. All members will participate in the NHS Tutoring Program and complete 10 tutoring hours as part of the 30 hour NHS service requirement. All members must pay $15.00 annual dues, attend NHS Induction and participate in all mandatory NHS school sponsored events and meetings.
