Important Info

Must have a desire to play chess, if you don't know we'll teach you!
Practices held in Room 220, 3:10- 4:00 Monday and Thursdays. Matches Every Tuesday starting in October.
Competitive chess, the best players on the team compete against other schools. Top 8 players make up Varsity, next 5 are the JV team, and everyone else is playing to earn a spot on one of those teams.
Matches on Tuesdays at home and away
Tournaments on some weekends

Description

The Chess team meets in room 220 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10 - 4:30. Refer to the Google Activity Calendar for specific meeting dates. 

The team competes against other schools in the SSC on Tuesdays from October through February with the occasional weekend tournament. Practices begin in September.
 
Vision Statement

The Chess Team exists to allow students with an interest in chess and competition to build upon their skills in a safe and fun environment. 
 
Membership Expectation

Members are expected to attend weekly practices, matches, and tournaments. Members are expected to participate in fundraising events that support the club's vision and programs. Please refer to the Google Activity Calendar for meeting dates and events.
