Advanced Placement Information

AP_Scholars

Although the pandemic disrupted many aspects of Spring 2020, it did not stop Oak Lawn Community High School Advanced Placement students from excelling. During 2020 AP testing, 48 Oak Lawn Community High School students scored 61 perfect scores on AP tests.

In addition to doubling the number of perfect “5” scores, OLCHS also doubled the number of students recognized for high scores on multiple tests, known as AP Scholars, over the previous year. 

Two OLCHS students were named the highest honor of National AP Scholars for having an average score of at least a 4 on the 5-point scale as well as scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams. 

Eleven students were named AP Scholars with Distinction which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. 

Eleven students also earned AP Scholar with Honors awards, which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Finally, 47 students were named AP Scholars, which is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Oak Lawn Community High School offers 20 different AP level courses which allow students a collegiate-level experience as well the opportunity to earn college credit.
