Sketchnotes
Mr. Atkins
In Biology classes, students used Sketchnotes to visually identify and comprehend many of the essential body processes, such as cellular transport and osmosis. Through the drawing and collaborative abilities of their iPad devices, students were able to manipulate and interpret their sketches in-class and remotely, eventually going from a blank screen to demonstration of “big ideas” like how the kidney works and the viruses’ impact on various body systems.
When students Sketchnote and use the iPad camera to Airplay their hand-drawn or digital creations, it allows students to meaningfully engage with the content and develop critical, real-time thinking skills during the learning process.
