A message from Oak Lawn Community High School District 229 President Robert Loehr and Superintendent Michael Riordan:

We were informed that on August 19, 2021, a lawsuit was filed by an individual against Governor JB Pritzker and State Superintendent Carmen Ayala.

Oak Lawn Community High School District 229 is not a party to this lawsuit in any manner.  No District 229 funding has been spent or allocated in support of this litigation.

The plaintiff filed the lawsuit “individually, and in his official capacity as a Member of the Oak Lawn Community High School District 229 School Board”.  However the seven-member Board has never discussed, contemplated, or supported this or any litigation against the Governor or the State Superintendent.

OLCHS will be taking action to remove any reference to our school district from this lawsuit.  Additionally, OLCHS is fully committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors.  We have been and will continue to be fully compliant with all guidance and directives from ISBE, IDPH, and the Governor to ensure a safe and full return to school.
