The Oak Lawn Community High School boys swim team had high hopes for sophomore Cohen Laylo heading into the recent South Suburban Conference Red meet. When the meet was over, they had even higher expectations for him as Laylo outscored other SSC Red divers by more than 60 points to win the conference diving championship.
Later in the month, Laylo scored his highest point total of the season at the Illinois High School Association Sectional meet and took fourth place, missing the IHSA State qualifying score by a mere six points.
For these outstanding accomplishments, the OLCHS Athletic Department has named Laylo as the Spartan Athlete of the Month.
