For Isaac Barba, his third-place finish in the 160-pound division at the recent South Suburban Conference Red meet was just the tip of the iceberg of accomplishments this season with the Oak Lawn Community High School wrestling team.
He led the Spartans in reversals with 18 (10 more than the next closest wrestler). He was Top Five on the team in eight major team statistical categories. He finished with 21 victories and 11 of those came with bonus points for the team. All in all, it was a great year on the mat.
“Isaac has a great work ethic,” head coach Steve Long said. “He will be a team leader next year.”
