Stuff You Need to Know
There will be a brief, but mandatory, meeting for all students enrolled in AP Physics TOMORROW right after school in room 274. Important information will be given out so please plan accordingly. See Mr. Repa by tomorrow if you have a conflict. Thank you.
May is national mental health awareness month. Please stop by the cafeteria during all lunches Tuesday and Thursday to purchase your suicide prevention ribbon for $1. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Elyssa’s Mission, an organization that has helped provide support OLCHS for almost 10 years. Elyssa’s Mission provides resources to help prevent teen suicide. This community-based organization was founded in 2006 in honor of Elyssa, a bright, gifted and outgoing Chicagoland girl who bravely battled post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Our goal is to raise $250. Anything you can donate is appreciated!
Basketball. To all boys interested in playing basketball next year; there will be a short meeting Thursday after school in room 359. The summer schedule and expectations will be shared. If you are unable to attend please see coach Rhodes in the counseling office or coach Lamb in room 359.
S.A.L.T. Anyone who participated in a full athletic season this year is eligible to join the Spartan Athletic Leadership Team (SALT) next year. Members enjoy monthly breakfasts and lunch, apparel, free concession stand, group trips to Six Flags, etc. Applications can be found on the athletic page of our website. See the Athletic Office for more information. Applications are due by May 25th.
Student Helpers. Come one, come all to the Student Helpers Meeting TODAY after school in the Jr./Sr. Lounge. This is the club you want to be in to make a difference and help make OLCHS a great place to be! We have received some personal recommendations from teachers and we are so excited to work with you fabulous student leaders. We are open to NEW members as well and look forward to meeting new faces with new ideas!! Don’t forget, come check us out TODAY! See Mrs. Schumacher or Mrs Meierkort with any questions.
Swimming/Diving. To both girls and boys Swim and Dive members and anyone else interested in earning up to 32 service hours this summer. There is a mandatory meeting this Friday after school regarding summer swim lessons in Mr. Zuzga's room 261. Anyone is welcome to help. It is a great, easy way to earn some service hours."
