Stuff You Need To Know

This weeks’ word of the week is Impugn, meaning to attack as false or questionable. “He couldn’t understand how his co-workers could impugn his reputation as a diligent, hard worker in the office.”

 

Need service hours?  Sertoma Centre needs you!  Help set up the annual Super Sale fundraiser event over the next two weeks.  Various volunteer shifts are available daily between March 19 and April 5.  For complete information on this opportunity and others available over Spring Break, please check the Service Learning Calendar, available in your iTunes U Seminar course and/or on the school webpage.

 

 

It’s a busy week for college visits!  Representatives from the following colleges will be visiting this week:

                Monday 3/19 – Yale University, pd. 2 and Benedictine University, pd. 10

                Tuesday 3/20 – Bradley University, pd. 2, MVCC “Office Hours” during all lunch periods, and Quincy University, pd. 8/9

                Wednesday 3/21 – Missouri State University, pd. 5/6 and Northern Michigan University, pd. 10

                Thursday 3/22 – St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame, pd. 2 and Eastern IL University, pd. 8/9

Please see or email Mrs. Kenny for a pass to attend. Juniors who have these schools saved in Career Cruising will automatically receive a pass to attend.

 

Club/Team News

The Spartans are going to State! 

The Group Interpretation is your 2017-2018 Sectional Champion! Cast Members Hanna Harris, Noah Swanberg, Bianca Honeycutt, Jada Jackson, Jesenia Martinez, Kenna Farrell, Nick Soto, Tyler Orel, and Jonathan McLawhorn are a part of your All Sectional Cast!

The Contest Play also advanced! Cast Members Aisling Berry, Abby Moore, and Abby Dayton were all selected as a part of the All Sectional Cast!

The shows Techincal Crew was recognized as well. Those members are Emma Stachowicz for Lighting . Julia Monigal and Juliette Bertalmio were recognized for their involvement for onstage tech and sound. Congrats to both casts and crew! We can’t wait to take these amazing shows to  Peoria this weekend to compete at the IHSA State Competition! All of the coaches are so proud!  

 

 

This past weekend, our Lady Spartans Track and Field took 2nd place in the SSC Indoor Conference, with many notable performances. The 4x800 relay of Ashley Lizak, Bayan Hammad, Nicole Arias, and Emma McGrath started the meet off with a 2nd place finish and setting a new personal best. Amira Jackson and Blessing Egbulefu going 3rd and 4th in the 200m dash. Emma McGrath and Ashley Lizak taking 1st and 2nd in the 800 meter run. And to end the night with an amazing race by our 4x400 relay team, Anna Gasiorek, Chloe Artus, Sadie Hartmann, and Emma McGrath taking home a 2nd place. Great job Spartans.

 

 

 

 

 

Anime Sci Fi Club: Cooking/Food day is moved to March 22. This week we will be planning for Mangopolis. 

Meeting ends at 4.

 

Football. OL Football is looking to hire a video editor for the spring and fall.  This student should be familiar in making videos through different formatting options for social media.  Please see Coach Novak if you are interested!
