Stuff You Need to Know

Freshmen, please turn in your school physical to the Nurse’s Office, RM 140, to avoid being excluded from school on October 15, 2016.  Visit the Nurse’s Office webpage for more information or contact them directly.

Seniors, proof of a meningitis vaccine is now due, please turn it in to the Nurse’s Office, RM 140, to avoid being excluded from school on October 15, 2016.   

The procedure in place for students who must leave during the school day for situations such as court appearances or funerals is to fill out a pre-arranged absence form. You can print out a pre-arranged absence form at www.olchs.org or you may pick up a form in deans'/attendance office.

Juniors and Seniors.  Did you miss the deadline to register for the September ACT?  There is still time to register for the October 1st SAT.  The SAT is also used by college admissions as a college entrance exam.  Students can register on the College Board website, www.collegeboard.org.  The deadline to register for the October 1st SAT is September 1st.  Don’t wait to sign up.  See your counselor if you need help registering.

Hello Spartans!  Would you or your family like to watch football home games in style?  Cross Countries is offering skybox seating which includes comfortable chairs, catered food and drink, and servers waiting on you the whole night.  Space is very limited so please see Mr. Repa in room 274 as soon as possible for more details.

 

Club/Team News

Frosh/Soph Class Advisory Board. Stop by Ms. Rumel’s room 260 to join the Frosh/Soph Class Advisory Board!  Don’t miss out on a chance to plan your high school memories, run for an office, earn community service, and/or have lots of fun.  Bring a friend and join up today.

Spartan Screamers. Miss the Spartan Screamer Meeting yesterday? Sign up to the Spartan ITunes U course code: CKM-CMD-WZC.

Crew. Do you like to build, paint, and design?  Would you like to learn how?  How about running lights or sound?  Ever consider becoming a make-up artist?  If you answered yes to any of these crew is for you.  Crew is the behind the scenes group for the musical.  There will be an informational meeting on Monday August 29 in the Little Theater.  Construction will begin on Tuesday August 30.  Everyone is welcome to join and No Experience is Necessary. 

NHS. SENIORS, the FIRST NHS general meeting, for CURRENT members, is next Monday 8/29 at 6:30pm in the Jr/Sr. Lounge.  Attendance is mandatory.   Please be on time!  

World Language Club. Bienvenidos!!  Our first meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, August 31st after school in room 357.  Please join us and bring interested classmates and amigos.  Hasta pronto!

Boys’ XC. Still haven’t joined a fall sport but still looking to get involved? Why not join the Boys’ Cross Country team! Being part of the Boys’ Cross Country team will provide you with an opportunity to be competitive, get in shape, show your Spartan Pride, and achieve things you never thought you could! We will be taking new team members through Friday, August 26th. No previous running experience required. Come out and be part of a fun and exciting team. See Coach Cryan in room 203 for more information.
