Stuff You Need to Know



The following seniors have perfect attendance all four years of high school: Raul Esparza, Stephanie Gasca, Samantha Izaguirre, Zachary Mackovitch and Ruby Perez. If your name is not listed and you think you have perfect attendance all four years, please see Mrs. Balthazor in the deans’ office as soon as possible! A list is also posted outside of the deans’ office.



Starting Monday April 24th, all students enrolled in summer school drivers education may pick up their permit application in office 227. You must provide your student ID to pick up the packet. All students must bring their permit with them to the first day of class which is Tuesday May 30th at 8am in room 281. If you have any questions, please email or visit Mr. Brandt in office 283 throughout the school day.


Any student who will be 15 years old by May 20th can still register for summer school Drivers Education. We currently have 20 seats still available. Please talk to your counselor if you are interested or have any questions. Class begins Tuesday May 30th at 8am in room 281.



Get your prom tickets! This year's prom will be held on Friday May 5th at Ashton Place. This year’s theme is “Forever Young”.  Tickets are $70.00 per person and can be purchased from today, through Friday, April 28, 2017, in the Main Office with cash or online via credit card using the online payment banner on the school’s website. The school will not accept personal checks from seniors. Students who purchase tickets online must pick-up their tickets in the Main Office.


Post-Prom Tickets to Navy Pier to cruise the Mystic Blue from 11pm-3am. Tickets are $30 per person. Sales run today-28th. FT permission form is available online. Tickets can be purchased online or in office 126, see Mrs. Malkowski. Cash or online via credit card using the payment banner on the school’s website.




Club/Team News


Congratulations once again to the Frosh/Soph Boys Tennis team on yet another win!  That makes this year's team 9-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference!  A special congratulations goes out to 1st doubles team, Jake Luzadder and Michal Malek, 2nd doubles team Ian Palacios and Patryk Szuba, and 3rd doubles team Krysztof Ptak and Ahmed Sharfi.  All three positions secured a team win with their dominating wins over Shepard High School yesterday!  Keep up the great work!  Next home game is tomorrow against Eisenhower.


The OLCHS Journalism team placed in 13 out of 17 events to earn a 3rd Place at the HF IHSA Journalism Sectional.  The team will be sending 6 students to State on Friday at EIU.  Please congratulate Jade Ryerson (Sectional Champ Headline Writing), Fatima Akili (Sectional Champ Yearbook Layout), Allison Templin (2nd Broadcast News), Sergio Serna (2nd Copy Editing), Salam Mulhem (2nd Infographics), and Anna Komperda (2nd Yearbook Caption). Also congratulations to coaches Mrs Nickless, Mrs. Atkus, and Ms. Lindsey Townsend.
