Egbulefu Continues to Impress With Hard Work on Track

Each week the Athletic Department and the Spartan Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) selects a Spartan Athlete of the Week. The recipient for the week of March 27 is girls’ track athlete Blessing Egbulefu.

The girls’ sprinter has had an amazing week running and beating up on her personal records. On Tuesday, Egbulefu ran a 1:04.30 in the 400-meter dash and a respectable 13.7 in the 100-meter dash. Then on Saturday at the Stagg Invitational with 18 teams competing, she ran a personal-best 13.23 in the 100, a personal-best 27.07 in the 200, a 1:04.54 in the 400, and was part of the 400-meter relay.

“Blessing continues to work hard and has so much more to offer this season,” said head coach Brian Fiene. “She is becoming a great role model for the upcoming runners.”
