Senior Donald Ott was named Eagle Scout of Troop 481 out of St. Albert the Great in Burbank. Don completed 30 merit badges and is the senior patrol leader. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, Don was required to plan a project without adult assistance. Thus, Don built a memorial garden and flagpole at St. Albert the Great.
He gathered 20 volunteers between the ages of 8 and 70, garnering 175 man hours for the project. By building the garden and flagpole for free, Don saved the church approximately $700 in labor and materials. The project was completed on July 23, 2017.
On November 1, 2017, Don spoke in front of a Board of Review, where they asked Don questions about personal character and why he should be considered an Eagle Scout. All six board members passed a unanimous vote officially confirming Don as an Eagle Scout. Congratulations, Don!
