Each week the Athletic Department and the Spartan Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) selects a Spartan Athlete of the Week. The recipient for the week of March 6 is senior boys track and field thrower Patrick Michaels.
He continued his incredible progress in the shot put as he increased his personal best throw by 2-feet-8 inches at the Argo Indoor Invitational. This moved his mark to 56 feet. That 56-foot throw set a new meet record at the Argo Invite.
Freshman Emily Mallo was awarded the Oak Lawn Park District Special Recreation Department’s January Volunteer of the Month. Emily volunteers for the Special Recreation Program through the park district every chance she can.
